Ditto X NYC:23 Roundup

February 4, 2024

Following on from the hugely successful Meet the Music Industry conference held at London’s Indigo at The 02, Ditto X headed stateside for its inaugural New York event.

Featuring as part of the New Colossus Festival 2023 and in partnership with VEVO, Ditto X: NYC23 provided guests with expert insights and advice on all things independent music - with a stacked lineup of speakers covering how to unlock new music revenue, land bigger shows as an artist, building a sustainable career within music, as well as much, much more.

"After witnessing the rapid growth and success of the independent music community with Ditto X at London's O2 as well as internationally, we were over the moon to bring our experiences, knowledge and support over to the United States. New York is one of the most vibrant and creative cities in the world, and we’re thrilled to have connected with the local community who share our independent message." Mike Murphy, Ditto Global Head of Events

The day saw over 400 music fans and artists head to a sold out Piano’s in New York’s Lower East Side to listen to the vastly experienced panel speakers from across the globe and network with like-minded industry professionals, with the diverse and exciting lineup including speakers from the likes of TikTok, DICE, Jaded Melody, Droga5, Secret Road, Jaded Melody, Anniversary Booking Agency, Songfuencer and Lyricfind.

Event guests were also treated to exclusive workshops from both VEVO and Spotify, including Spotify Global Head Of Independents, Jennifer Masset running an Artist Masterclass Session. This exclusive workshop provided artists and labels alike with expert insights into Spotify tools and services - helping them understand what it takes to become successful on the streaming platform.

Alongside the wide range of panel topics and speakers, Ditto also offered budding artists and music professionals the chance to represent the company as Ditto Music Brand Ambassadors throughout the New Colossus Festival. Two lucky interns were chosen to attend the festival and build up awareness around Ditto both locally and further afield - as well as exploring their future career opportunities through priceless industry networking.

Breaking up the discussion panels were live performances and artist interviews from Yeasayer’s Anand Wilder, Yumi Zouma’s Josh Burgess, Helen Ganya, and CLAVVS.

Music blockchain business, Opulous also made up a key part of the lineup at Ditto X: NYC23, with Head of Artist Services Joe Mason delivering an exciting talk as part of the Future Trends panel and Head of Marketing Tom Napper being on hand to deliver expert insights into the brand’s global strategy, rounding off a hugely successful first time out in America for Ditto X.
